Some of our telemanagement projects for public entities and private companies in Catalonia. Control and saving of irrigation water for gardening. Digitization and real-time control of maintenance tasks.

In a particularly complex territorial context, with high urban pressure, strategic infrastructure such as the airport, and the presence of protected natural areas in the Llobregat Delta, irrigation management becomes a key element for ensuring the sustainability of green spaces and the resilience of the urban landscape.

El Prat de Llobregat has recently completed the deployment of the SAMCLA telemanagement system throughout the municipality, reinforcing the strategy of digitizing green space maintenance services and improving the efficiency of water resource use.

The project integrates a real-time irrigation control network of nearly 1,000 solenoid valves thanks to 10 Hub’s connected to 400 irrigation controllers distributed throughout parks, gardens, roundabouts, and other natural areas of the city.

In addition, the following elements have been installed:

  • 16 water meters for monitoring consumption by hydraulic sector.
  • 11 soil moisture sensors located in representative areas of different types of vegetation.
  • Rain sensors for automatic interruption of irrigation cycles during rainfall events.

Implementation of the system represents a significant improvement in the operational management of municipal gardening services:

  • Water consumption reduction through dynamic irrigation adjustment.
  • Overconsumption detection, allowing the identification of areas with potential hydraulic anomalies and minimizing response time.
  • Real-time monitoring with automatic water cut-off in case of leakeage.
  • Maintenance reduction, as remote diagnosis and intervention of the controllers are possible.

With this initiative, El Prat de Llobregat consolidates an advanced management model for urban green infrastructure, a preventive maintenance model that is optimized and adapted to real environmental conditions, based on digitalization, water efficiency, and sustainability.

SAMCLA Infinite irrigation telemanagement system installed in the green areas of the Port of Tarragona

The installation of controllers and sensors now allows for smarter water use and significantly reduces the time required for maintenance tasks. The system covers a wide area — from the Platja del Miracle promenade to the Francolí River, including the main port entrance and the green spaces of El Serrallo.

We would like to thank the Environmental Division of the Port of Tarragona for their support, as well as the teams from BACTAGUA SL, Noujardí, and the Onada Private Foundation for their collaboration.

L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, the second most populous city in Catalonia and the most densely populated in Europe, has completed the renovation of its irrigation system.

Aiming to optimize water resource usage and enhance the efficiency of maintenance in its green spaces, the City Council has carried out a comprehensive upgrade of the municipal irrigation network.

As part of this transformation, 340 SAMCLA Infinite controllers and sensors have been installed, enabling the easy configuration of irrigation chains across more than 1,000 sectors simultaneously.

This initiative is part of the city’s commitment to sustainability and intelligent water management, integrating cutting-edge technology that provides remote, precise, and automated control of irrigation in all public green areas.

Torelló Town Council, together with maintenance companies Fundació MAP and TAC Osona, has chosen to rely on SAMCLA with the installation of 90 irrigation controllers (both battery-powered and electric) to

easily and efficiently manage the municipality’s 300 irrigation sectors.

As part of our commitment to smart and sustainable water management, a wide network of sensors has been deployed across the municipality, enabling precise and efficient control of resources. In addition, the new Samcla Infinite software introduces the innovative concept of “virtual chains” of controllers — a cutting-edge feature that significantly saves valuable management time.

We had the chance to participate in the industrialization and construction technologies event which took place in

EcoHUB: a multidisciplinary space of technology, bioconstruction and landscaping.

Architects, engineers and companies could share different needs and solutions for a more sustainable construction.

Mercabarna, the main wholesale market for fresh food in Europe with 600 companies specialized in distribution,

has installed the SAMCLA Infinite telemanagement system in its green spaces.

In this project, apart from the latest generation irrigation programmers with a new alarm and warning system for leak detection, rain and humidity sensors have also been installed that will allow the managers of the Mercabarna Environment Area to achieve water savings over 40%.
